Skype Offers Free Wi-Fi at Airports

free-wifi-airport-skypeSkype is letting their holiday spirit show this year by providing free Wi-Fi at most major airports. Travelers will be gifted with one free hour of Internet access at over 50 locations across the U.S.

Obviously, users will need to have a Wi-Fi capable device and have the latest version of Skype installed.

However, one interesting fact to note is that Skype is excluding Android users from this fun-filled offer.  We’d like to think that Google’s mobile operating system has been naughty this year, what with all the security issues. But that’s not the case. Skype WiFi merely isn’t supported on the current running Android app. Since Skype just released a new version of their app on the Android Market earlier this month, it isn’t like to release an update any time soon.

While we’re on the subject of Christmas gifts, Google is once again offering parents the chance to play Santa. Its “Send a Call From Santa” website lets people call from their Google Voice accounts to phone Santa, who will actually pick up the call.

Send a Call from Santa doesn’t say when the offer will be rescinded—most likely by Christmas—but Skype’s free WiFi offer will be available until Tuesday, December 27.
